This new pocket park gives a finished look to the northeast corner of 10th and Peachtree…even though most of Midtown wishes John Dewberry would go ahead a develop the darn thing. I’m of the opinion that it’ll happen when it’s supposed to happen. The park looks a little bland right now but some spring flower plantings should change that nicely.
Fantastic shot from 1979 looking north on Peachtree Street toward its intersection with 10th Street, which amazingly runs next to the tallish ornate building in the center of the photo. The scale was downright cozy back then!
AJC photo from 1966 of Peachtree Street between 11th and 10th.
The pedestrian path that runs from Peachtree Street to Crescent Avenue between the Wimbish House and the Proscenium Building feels like a secret place. It’s a nice, quick stroll and it kind of makes up for the fact that nearby 13th Street momentarily turns into a parking lot on the same block for whatever reason.
Why do I feel a damning Creative Loafing restaurant review lurking in the shadows? (Taken with Instagram at 1010 Midtown)
