Genesis Real Estate Group hopes to complete the apartment tower and a 1,001-car parking garage by March 2002.

Three decades ago, Atlanta developer Jim Cushman targeted the intersection of Peachtree and 14th streets in Midtown as a prime spot for a mix of office, residential, retail and hotel development.
His vision, which led him to build Colony Square, one of the city’s first megaplexes, proved to be correct. But his timing was off, and the project ended up in bankruptcy.
But it survived under new owners, and this heart-of-Midtown intersection has continued to spawn new ventures. Today it’s on the verge of a major growth spurt.
